RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship course (Part 1) Provisional
Dates: 14th March & 21st March
Timings: 10am - 6pm
Cost: £120
This course is designed by the RYA, for members who wish to familiarise themselves with basic navigation and seamanship skills.
Equally, if you would like to brush up on already known skills, but are feeling a little rusty, or not quite sure where your knowledge base lies, then this could be just the course for you. It's also handy to have completed this course before you do your Day Skipper!
In the RYA pack, it will include a practice navigational chart, a modern plastic plotter and a set of dividers, as well as the RYA course booklet.

- Chart familiarisation
- Tidal diamonds
- Tidal atlas
- Weather interpretation
- Sea law
- Coming along side other boats
- Spring rope organisation
- Anchoring
- Bouyage
- Right of way
This course will be run in-house by David Libby, who is the Course co-ordinator for the club.
