Spring and Summer at PSC

On a spinnaker run in the PSC cruiser race . . . it doesn’t get much better than this! There’s lots to enjoy beyond cruiser racing as the weather warms up. Dinghy Cruising & Social Sailing

Dinghies land on the sand bar inside Langstone Harbour for a picnic lunch, before exiting the harbour at low tide to sail across and return to the club via Portsmouth Harbour, the Portsea Island Cruise. See Dinghy Social Sailing for more details.

Cruiser Rallies

Our cruiser sailors regularly go off on rallies around the Solent, always a nice harbour to moor up for an evening of relaxation and a nice meal. For more see our Rallies programme

Dinghy Racing

Our dinghy fleet race on a regular basis, a mixed handicap fleet; Single handers from Toppers, to Lasers, Solo’s RS Aero to Finn, for the double handers from RS Feva and Vision, Laser 2000 and RS400. For more details visit our dinghy racing section.

Stand Up Paddling and Kayaking

The water around Portchester Castle is ideal for Stand Up Paddling and Kayaking (of course this is tide and weather dependant). The club has kayak racks where members can have year round storage and we have an active group of members who kayak or SUP.

During the winter the club purchased some new paddleboards and we are excited to be able to offer these for use, at a nominal fee, by club members.

Our on-water “Get Afloat” sessions run on Friday evenings with favourable tide and are an opportunity for new and existing club members to try out our club SUP and/or dinghies with support and tips from other members. Join us afterwards in the Clubhouse to rehydrate and perhaps enjoy some food from the galley menu.

Engaging our younger members in race management

Engaging with local schools

We have an active Training Section, we are members of the RYA Onboard Scheme, engaging with local schools to introduce young people to sailing. For more details visit Cadets.
