Coastal Rowing at PSC
Coastal Rowing is a wonderful way to get outdoors and join in a water activity. If you have not yet tried it then have a go!
Getting on the water in our Bursledon gig "Giggle" is easy and takes you to the beautiful sites around our historic harbour. We have a castle, boats, iconic architecture and amazing rare and beautiful wildlife to see. It can be just a social outdoor activity or you can get competitive.
We run an induction programme to get you started and then you can progress at your own pace. You can row at any age. It is very sociable and conversations strike up. Physical ability is not judged and there will be a crew you can join at every level of fitness. It gets us all
outside and because it is physical, with the right clothing you stay warm and dry. Being outside is invigorating and joyful.
We share events with rowing sections from other clubs and this opens up great opportunities for fun rows as well as competition. In May we took part in the Cockleshell Challenge, an 8 mile race along the Southsea shore and around Horsesands Fort.
There are rowing sessions for the men as well! . The rowing activities are mainly coordinated through a club WhatsApp group. To join you first need to be a PSC member and part of the PSC WhatsApp community, you can then join the gig rowing section.
The groups meat up for leisure rowing, training sessions and taking part in competitions around the area, particularly the three harbours.
