Tracking "Rapau"

Published 15:38 on 18 Nov 2022
As many of you know Pete and Jacqui are just starting their trip across the Atlantic in "Rapau", their Moody 36, with Colin and Wellie as their crew.
Rapau can be tracked by AIS on the vesselfinder.com website or https://forecast.predictwind.com/tracking/display/SV-Rapau/
Sailing Club Manager have been trialling a new 'TV' webpage display. You access this by going to https://www.portchestersc.org/tv you need to enter a pin to view the page. The three digit pin is the same as for our push button door locks (showers / foyer door etc).
The TV page has four windows, the top two are local wind conditions and Portsmouth tides for the next 5 days. The bottom lefthand display is live AIS tracking data for Rapau. Note:it may be that we will lose the tracking if it relies entirely on shore stations to receive the signal from Rapau, so we may not be able to track them continually. At the time of writing this, Rapau is approx. halfway between the Canaries and Cape Verde, approximately 228nm off the coast of West Africa.
At the bottom on the right, we have forthcoming events.
